As someone who isn’t really into New Year’s resolutions, I find myself in a unique position this year. Spending the transition from 2023 to 2024 on a different continent, immersed in a culture so unlike what I’m used to, has sparked a period of reflection (hence me starting this blog).
Looking back on 2023, I’m filled with nothing but gratitude. It was a year full of unforgettable memories and enriching experiences, from getting down on one knee in January to riding down the world’s deadliest road in Bolivia in December. It’s truly a joy to be able to look back and remember special moments so vividly yet at the same time you also realise how quickly time goes by. This factor is a continuous reminder of the importance of making decisions that resonate with my core values and priorities. This means cherishing moments spent with family and friends as well as dedicating myself to projects that ignite my passion. And it seems this will be my guiding principle for 2024 as well!
As for the upcoming year, there’s already quite a few things lined up. While I’m a firm believer in planning, I also understand the value of managing expectations and hence look forward to embracing both the highs and lows, as they both eventually come.
